Visionary of The Year 2026
And the Mission Behind The Trauma Queens
I’m Tommie Burch, a 2025 candidate for Blood Cancer United’s Visionaries of the Year. This 10-week campaign fuels life-saving blood cancer research, supports families in crisis, and helps change the future of cancer care.
But this mission isn’t just something I support. It’s something I live with.
Why This Matters
I lost my dad to cancer when I was 12.
And before turning 30, six of my closest friends lost a parent or spouse to cancer too. Cancer doesn’t just take lives. It takes moments, milestones, and futures we assumed were guaranteed.
This campaign is my way of fighting back. For my dad. For my friends’ families. For anyone whose life has a clear “before cancer” and “after cancer.

Out of grief came community.
The Trauma Queens is a collective of strong, resilient, big-hearted people choosing to turn pain into purpose. Together, we share stories, raise awareness, build connection, and show that healing doesn’t have to happen alone.
We believe in laughter alongside loss. Hope alongside heartbreak. And light, even after trauma.
